What “MAT Friendly” Actually Means at HOPE House
MAT friendly means we don’t turn men away for taking prescribed recovery medication. Medication-assisted treatment is an evidence-based tool. For many men, it’s the difference between staying in recovery and relapsing. So we welcome residents working a real MAT plan with a licensed prescriber.
How It Works Day to Day
Residents must take their medication exactly as prescribed. They also store it safely, keep provider appointments, and stay honest with house leadership. We treat MAT as part of the recovery plan, not a shortcut or a source of shame. Every man here is focused on getting better, and that includes respecting each other’s path.
Why Structure Matters More When You’re on MAT

Every resident lives inside a clear framework. That means house rules, curfews, chores, work or job-search requirements, house meetings, and regular drug and alcohol testing. Structure isn’t punishment. It’s the scaffolding that lets a man rebuild while his brain and body heal.

Serving Men Across the Treasure Valley
HOPE House is based in Nampa. We serve men from Boise, Meridian, Caldwell, Middleton, and across Idaho. That includes men coming out of inpatient treatment, jail, or an unstable home. Many arrive already on MAT through their treatment provider or a local clinic. Others start MAT after moving in, working with their own prescriber. Either way, they join a house of men pointed the same direction.
Why We’re Men-Only
We’re a men-only program on purpose. Early recovery goes better when the space is focused and free of distractions. It’s also built around the ways men tend to isolate, self-sabotage, and rebuild. Living with other men in the same stage of recovery creates a brotherhood and honesty that’s hard to find anywhere else.
